Wasil Foundation, formerly known as CWCD, is dedicated to creating sustainable poverty alleviation pathways. Established in 1992 as a Non-Governmental Organization and registered as a not-for-profit company under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984, Wasil has consistently worked to transform lives and uplift communities.
Our mission is simple yet profound: poverty alleviation through enterprise development. To achieve this, we pioneered a unique model of microfinance that shifts the narrative. Instead of focusing solely on the “poorest of the poor,” we embrace the ideology of the “potential poor”:
those with the drive and capability to change their circumstances, given the right opportunities and support.
Join us in our journey to create lasting change.
